Code 128

This topic describes how to insert a barcode control of the Code 128 symbology (code type) into a report. In addition, it gives a short description of the Code 128 code type. To learn more about barcodes in XtraReports see the Barcodes Overview topic.

Code 128 is a very effective, high-density symbology which permits the encoding of alphanumeric data. The symbology includes a checksum digit for verification, and the barcode can also be verified character-by-character, allowing the parity of each data byte to be verified. This symbology has been widely implemented in many applications where a relatively large amount of data must be encoded in a relatively small amount of space. It's specific structure also allows numerical data to be encoded at, effectively, double-density.

The following properties should be set to specify a particular barcode of the Code 128 type:

• Code128Generator.CharacterSet. This property is used to specify the charset for an XRBarCode of the Code 128 type. It should be set to an appropriate value in the Code128Charset enumeration.
